Looking for a new recipe? Need a laugh? Maybe you’re just looking for someone who “get its.” Twitter can be one of the most helpful tools for communities like ours! Do you have a Twitter? We’ve compiled a list of our favorite healthy Twitter accounts, tweeting stories, facts, recipes, and laughs onto our timeline on a regular basis, all sans gluten of course! Be sure to give the ladies below a follow or you could be missing out on some serious gluten-free gold.
Sarah Stanley – @Sarahstanley: Formally a sponsored endurance athlete & ultramarathon runner, Sarah is a lifelong entrepreneur and health/fitness/good cause advocate. Sarah values both physical and mental toughness both in her training and in life. As she travels the country running marathons, speaking to a wide-range of audiences, and sharing her journey through social networks and speaking; her message of inspiration, fitness and endurance encourages people of all ages.
Toni Dash – @BoulderLocavore: The writer and photographer for the blog BoulderLocavore.com. Toni has been gluten free since 2005 and also the mom of two gluten free kids. She sees being gluten free as something to learn from, not something, which compromises her joy of food.
Liz Della Crose – @TheLemonBowl: Creator and author of The Lemon Bowl, a healthy food blog. Since 2010, Liz has been creating delicious recipes using real ingredients with an emphasis on seasonality. Liz has appeared live on the TODAY Show and tapes regular cooking segments for her local NBC affiliate station. She is a contributor for The Huffington Post and Cooking Light. Liz’s recipes and food photography have been featured on several websites including Shape Magazine, Food Network blog, The Cooking Channel, TODAY Food and more. New in 2013, Liz launched Healthy Habits, a feature on The Lemon Bowl where her loyal readers and growing audience can find practical advice, resources and information on creating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Melanie Flinn – @nutritiouseats: A food loving, health promoting, wife and mother of 3 wonderful children (6, 3 and 11 months). Her PASSION for food and good health led me to her career as a Registered Dietitian but her LOVE for food led me to the kitchen. Her philosophy is to eat healthy, whole foods, exercise regularly and allow yourself indulgences for your favorites.
Lynn – @Lynnskitchenadv: Lynn’s Kitchen Adventures is all about sharing a love of cooking, recipes, tips, and ideas of how to combine cooking passion with a busy life. Cooking in short order Lynn loves to cook and bake, and it is a good thing, because her family loves to eat. She is always trying new recipes and experimenting with different foods, but her time is limited. With my three kids and husband, Lynn lives on 43 acres in Northeastern Oklahoma. Between homeschooling, helping at her husband’s office, working on their property, taking care of three dogs, and raising hogs as a side job/hobby, Lynn is constantly on the go like most of you.
Wendy Polisi – @cookingquinoa: Wendy is the author of Cooking with Quinoa, where you will find everything you need to started enjoying quinoa! Since early 2012 all of her recipes are gluten free, but she also tries to give alternatives so that those of you who are not gluten free can enjoy the recipes without restocking your pantry!
Gina – @runtothekitchen: Gina is 31 and live in the suburbs of New York City with her husband, Ulysses and their 6-year-old Weimaraner, Ginger. She started her blog Run to the Kitchen in May 2011 after realizing she was spending way too much time reading about other people’s lives through food & fitness blogs and finally getting the motivation to start my own.
Rachel Martin – @finding_joy: Rachel is the voice behind Finding Joy. And that? It’s a website dedicated to seeking joy in life, specifically in motherhood. Intentional living, if you may. Rachel tweets and blogs about Motherhood, gluten free eating (her son Samuel was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2011), homeschooling and its curriculum, faith, humor, and most importantly joy.
Anne-Marie Nichols – @amnichols: Her mission is help people – especially busy moms and their families – get on the road to living a more healthy lifestyle by sharing good-for-you recipes and lifestyle tips. Maybe that means following Weight Watchers or eliminating gluten and milk products from your diet. Or, if you’re a busy parent, finding easy and delicious ways to get your kids to eat more vegetables or even fish! Beside healthy recipes, Anne-Marie also cover health topics like dental health and braces, vitamins and nutrition, skin products, exercise and weight loss.
Lindsay Cotter – @LCCotter: Lindsay is a 30 year old texas girl married to a kiwi. He likes to race triathlon, that’s kinda his profession. In her own words Lindsay is “the sherpa wife that likes to feed him (us) gluten free, that’s kinda what I am good at.” Her and her husband travel a lot, enjoy good wine, and have yet to settle down.
Jo-Lynn Shane – @JoLynneS: Jo-Lynn is a writer, blogger, runner, community manager, wife and mom living in the suburbs of Philadelphia with her husband of almost 18 years, three lively children (ages 7, 10 and 13) and a terribly spoiled shih ztu named Savannah. Musings of a Housewife, her blog, is a personal memoir and lifestyle blog where Jo-Lynn writes about faith, food, fitness, fashion, family travel, and anything else that strikes her fancy.
Dr. Anastasia – @healthymamainfo: Mom of a preschooler and twin toddlers. Anastasia has a Ph.D in holistic nutrition and loves to share her knowledge of health and food with mothers to help them raise healthier families. She believes that reshaping your family’s meal can enhance your life. She also loves doing crafts with her children. Previously, She has produced and appeared in thirteen yoga DVDs and starred on a yoga TV show. She speaks four languages and makes yummy healthy meals for the whole family in twenty minutes. She started her blog Healthy Mama to share her love and knowledge of health, nutrition, fitness and yoga with you. She believes that any mama can be a healthy mama, given the right recipes, exercises and encouragement.
Caitlin Boyle – @CaitlinHTP: Caitlin is 28 years old, and lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her Husband, son Henry, and two dogs. Her blog The Healthy Tipping Point documents her life as she strives to maintain health and balance. By sharing her fitness tips and healthy recipes, she hopes to inspire you to live your best life as well. In addition to blogging, she is an author of three books, including one healthy living guide.
Alta Mantsch – @tastyeatsathome: Alta is a recipe writer, amateur food photographer, and self-proclaimed, self-taught, home-chef-in-training. She lives north of Dallas, Texas, in a suburb that has one foot in suburban life and one foot in country life, with her husband John (the household taste-tester, guinea pig and occasional advisor), our two chihuahua mixes, and on a part-time basis, three amazing children.
Jenifer – @savorthethyme: Jenifer is a stay-at-home mom with two children, ages 5 and 7. She obtained a Master’s of Science in Immunology and worked for a large pharmaceutical company prior to starting her family. Her blog Savoring the Thyme focuses on family-friendly healthy food and lifestyle. She believes in feeding your family in a healthy way and to her that means eating ‘real’ foods.
Lauren Lucille – @TheCeliacDiva: Lauren is a Christian, a wife, mom to Josiah, a professional singer and actress (AEA) and co-hostess for Schar’s online “Better Without” series. She has been gluten free since March 18th, 2010, what she calls her healing birthday. Lauren started “The Celiac Diva” after she realized she wanted a place where she could surround herself with a community of support and information…with a side of sass.
