Best Fix n' Forget Sloppy Joe's
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground turkey
3 tbs dried onion, or 1/2 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 tbs minced garlic
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp chili powder
1 can GF tomato sauce
1 small can GF tomato paste
3 tbs vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup Lea & Perrins® Worcestershire sauce
Udi’s whole grain hamburger buns or Udi’s classic hamburger buns, slightly toasted
(you can pretty much load it up with whatever veggies you want to put in it!)
1/4 cup FINELY chopped carrots, celery, zucchini, OR peppers, etc
1. Brown the ground beef and ground turkey together. Just before done, add dried onion. Drain off fat.
2. Combine the rest of the ingredients with the meat and mix well.
3. Pour all ingredients into slow cooker and cook on low heat 4-6 hours; stirring occasionally.
4. Serve on lightly toasted Udi’s whole grain hamburger buns or Udi’s classic hamburger buns and optional cheese and veggies of your choice.
